A new publication called “My Sporting Memories” has been created by Roy Cavanagh has been created to support Chorley FC’s Sporting Memories group.
My Sporting Memories is an insight into one man’s love of football and his recollections of Lancashire teams throughout the 1950’s and 60’s. Roy Cavanagh MBE first connected with the Sporting Memories Network in 2014 and has since supported Sporting Memories groups to become a regular fixture across the North of England.
This book has been produced to help generate much needed funds to support Sporting Memories groups, and will enable the groups to continue to cover costs once physical meetings return. Roy has produced 23 Sporting themed books to date, covering subjects including “United in the 60’s”, “Gentleman John” and “Seven Generations of Manchester United Passion!”.
Each Book costs £3 plus 50p for Postage and Packaging (to mainland UK).
My Sporting Memories focusses on some of the clubs and players that made Lancashire great in the 50’s and 60’s, including Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Burnley FC and Preston North End, and some of the greats who pulled on the iconic shirts. Chorley FC have also been included in the list of great Lancashire clubs, and to this day provides a venue for one of Lancashire most successful Sporting Memories groups.
All money raised through this website will support Chorley FC’s Sporting Memories initiative and copies of the book will be delivered by post.
